We came into this project to help add a name, a brand, and a story to an off-beach hotel in Waikiki, slated to be a part of Marriott's Autograph Collection. What started as a normal branding and strategy job for us quickly blossomed into the largest project we'd ever taken on. Not only were we tasked with making a great brand that spoke to both locals and travelers alike, but we also took on the full interior design of the hotel in-house.
Our concept celebrates the era of the building, focusing on the theme of Hawaiian Modern, inspired by work of Vladimir Ossipoff. This vibe was infused throughout the branding and into every aspect of the interiors, including the design of 14 room types with a suite of custom furniture and all of the public spaces—the lobby and concierge as well as a restaurant, a bar, a retail store, and a pool deck—an epic endeavor for our small team, to say the least. All of the effort was worth it—both travelers and locals are loving it and, of course, our clients are, too.
